| This is also one of the castles built for defense against Arab invasions.
It was named as “Bufavento”
which means “not afraid of
wind”, since the place is very windy. It is built on a place where an
important passage may be controlled easily and which could be seen from
other castles when fire was used as a sign to communicate. There are also
ruins of a castle which is known as “101 Evler” meaning
“101 Houses”. The castle, of which the construction date is not
known, was present at the time of Richard The Lion-hearted and its name
was “The Lion Casle” at that time. The castle, of which the red brick
workmanship is in Byzantium style, consists of two parts.
